Roof Poles
- Roof poles attach to the top of the wall with a loop on one end, and the tip of the pole fits snugly into a cut-out on the crown or roof.
- 60-100+ are included with every yurt, depending on the size.
- Can be made in all color options with and without the hand-painted detail.

ropes
- Ropes are made from horse and yak hair.

- Cam straps, tie-down straps, or nylon straps available in the US might save time and be comparably priced.
Center supports
- Crown support poles attach to the roof/crown directly from the ground.
- Two are included with every yurt. Three for the 8-wall yurt.
- Typically, a cooking stove would go in between these poles in Mongolia.

Crown/roof
- The round, center top of the yurt.

- Eight window openings with a center cut-out section that remains permanently open.
- The eight openings come with ten options to fill them

- 8-glass panes with wood frames,

- Additional hinged plastic windows can be included for an extra charge.

Inner Roof Liner
- A thin, white, cotton sheet-like base layer for the roof that comes standard with every yurt.
- It is placed under the felt on top of the roof poles.
- This can be removed and washed when the yurt is moved, taken down, and reassembled.
- Its primary purpose is to keep the felt layer clean.
- It will be included in our next container coming from Mongolia. The wait for delivery can be long.

Inner wall liner
- An imprinted, creme-color, rayon-like material with color trim.
- It is used to protect the felt, hide the walls, or as decoration.
- It is attached through small loops on the top of the wall hanging and a long nylon cord that weaves through it and behind the roof poles.
- Decorative detail color choices include dark brown, blue, and red.

Doors
- Every yurt comes with a two-layered door (unless requested otherwise.)
- An outer single-panel door
- Inner French doors with two small windows on each side, for a total of four small windows.

- You may choose a single or double door.
- Tall versus regular walls – if you have tall walls or the 8-wall yurt, you must have tall doors. Doors, walls, and windows must all be the same height.

Windows
- Each complete window is roughly the same size as the door for its corresponding yurt size.
- Please see the Yurt Details page for specific measurements.
- There are two frames within one window.
- The top, smaller frame opens.
- Each frame in the window includes glass.
- Each window has two covers.
- Inside, a detachable, cotton-covered felt cover for insulation that ties to the yurt’s frame.
- The outer canvas rain cover is attached to the giant top white canvas cover. It rolls up and ties, tucked away under the white cover.
- It is impossible to add windows to a Mongolian yurt that has already been made without windows.
- Can be made in all color options with and without the hand-painted detail.
- Tall versus regular walls – if you have tall walls or the 8-wall yurt, you must have tall windows. Doors, walls, and windows must all be the same height.
- These are not traditional to the Mongolian ger. There could be heat loss in extremely cold climates.

Walls
- Walls are expandable, wood lattice sections that interlace and tied together to form the circle of the yurt.
- They are made from dried wood, shaped, sanded, and steamed to create a slight bow to the overall wall.
- Each joint is tied together with camel sinew.
- The 4-wall yurt will have four lattice wall sections that are tied together around the door; the 5-wall will have five, etc.
- However, if you have added windows or extra doors, the wall, felt, and cover configuration could change.
- Tall Walls are 6 feet tall and must be purchased to go with tall doors and windows.
